
Parisa Behzadi graduated from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor with a degree in Arabic, Armenian, Persian, Turkish, and Islamic Studies and earned her master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education at Texas A&M University. Ms. Behzadi began her career in education as a 2012 Teach For America corps member, teaching at Fondren Middle School in Houston ISD, where she founded the Newcomer Academy to support immigrant and refugee students. She later served as a teacher and principal at BakerRipley Charter School before becoming principal of Sylvan Rodríguez Elementary School.
